Dear Parents/Guardians:

On Tuesday, June 20, 2017, the 2016-2017 school year will come to a close.  It has been an eventful school year and our staff and students are still working hard during these last days.  

Please note the following information:

JUNE 16, 2017

June 16, 2017 will be the last day for ALL HALF-DAY pre-school students.   Full-day pre-school students will follow the June 19 and 20, 2017 schedule.

JUNE 19 and 20, 2017

The district will be following the half-day schedule.  Lunches will not be served.

Grades Full Day Pre-K, CAP, TP through Grade 4 will dismiss at: 12:30 p.m.

Kindergarten hours are: 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. (A.M. Students)

10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (P.M. Students)

Additional Reminders!

LUNCH FUND

Any funds remaining in your child’s POS lunch fund account will be available next year.  The account number assigned to your student will remain the same until high school graduation.  When students borrow money from the lunch fund, the borrowed money needs to be repaid.  Please return all borrowed money in an enveloped marked with your child’s name and teacher’s name on or before June 16, 2017.  All debts should be paid no later than Friday, June 16, 2017.  The last day lunch will be served will be Friday, June 16, 2017¬.  Students will not be able to borrow lunch money on June 16, 2017.

LOST AND FOUND

All lost and found items are contained in a large container in the main hallway.  Please be sure to check for any lost items before June 16, 2017.  All unclaimed, usable items will be donated to a local charity.  If your child is missing glasses, please check with the front office personnel.

ATTIRE

Appropriate clothing and shoes must be worn at all times.  Students must be able to participate in physical education classes, as well as recess.  For health and safety reasons, flip-flops are not allowed.  Safety is our first concern.

MEDICATION

All medication must be picked up from the school nurse before the last day of school.  Unused medications are not kept from year to year.  With the safety of our students in mind, children are not permitted to bring home any medication.  Any medication that has not been picked up will be discarded after June 20, 2017.  Parent and physician forms must be renewed each year.  Students who have been receiving daily medication will be given a new form to be completed for next year.

MEDICAL INFORMATION UPDATES

All updated student medical information must be provided to the school nurse prior to the first day of school in September.  If you have any questions, please contact the school nurse at Ext. 3350.  Pre-school students who will be staying at Woods Road for the upcoming school year will need to provide updated medical/immunizations to the school nurse prior to the beginning of school.

MOVING

As a reminder to our families who are planning on moving over the summer, please remember to come to the school office before June 20, 2017 to sign a transfer card.  This will give the school authorization to transfer your child’s school records to their new school.  

If you will be moving within the Hillsborough Township Public School District, please inform the school office of your plans to transfer.  All school records will be transferred to the new in-district school.  Proof of residency will be required at the student’s new school office.

CLASS PLACEMENTS

Class placement information will be available through the Genesis Parent Portal on August 25, 2017.

TRANSPORTATION

As a reminder, parents/guardians are responsible for informing the transportation department, the school, teacher, and day care provider of alternate transportation arrangements.  Each student in the district has a bus assignment to and from their home.  If alternate arrangements are to be made, i.e., to/from a day care provider, a notification to the transportation department and the school must be made each year in writing.  This information must be provided to the transportation department no later than July 15, 2017, to be effective for the first day of school.  If you required a “Daycare/Babysitter” form, please contact the school office or the transportation department for a copy.  A copy of this form is also available on the website.
