Ms. Dina Stoff is Woods Road School’s REACH teacher. In second or third grade, students are screened for possible participation in the “pull-out” REACH program which begins in grade 3. The third and fourth grade REACH classes are for identified students. Students leave their third and fourth grade classrooms for 40 minutes each six-day cycle for small group REACH instruction. REACH lessons in these grades are project-based and address specific critical and creative thinking skills including: fluency, flexibility, originality, elaboration, imagination, analysis, synthesis, evaluation, problem solving, decision making, self-awareness, communication, research techniques and self-directed learning. Additionally, students in kindergarten, first, and second grade can be identified for additional exploratory opportunities one semester each year to access their areas of strength, enriching their learning.
